The ETA 6498 movement has been used in luxury timepieces for almost 70 years and has a reputation of being a beautiful, reliable and long lasting Swiss movement.

This special variant has been skeletonised. meaning that non-essential parts of the movement have been cut away, providing a unique aesthetic.
The base design for this movement was originally developed for use in pocket watches, and slowly transitioned into wristwatches as the popularity of larger modern wrist watches gained momentum through the 1980s to today.
Over the years this movement has been used by major watch manufactures such as IWC, Panerai and Omega.

DESIGN CUES
SKELETONISED

A key theme present through all elements of the timepiece is the skeletonised design. This can be seen in the mechanical movement, the layered dial, watch case, band and even the hands.

PERSONAL REFERENCES

The watch was designed with a number of personal references throughout. These include a ‘MW’ on the center of the dial and watch crown.
To reference your birthday your full birth date is engraved at the top of the dial, and for a more subtle touch the three dimensional numerals around the dial are limited to just those of your birth year - 1, 9, 6 & 4.

MUSOU BLACK & CONTRASTING RED

A standout feature of this timepiece is the incredibly deep black used on the dial. The specialty coating, known as Musou Black, is the world's blackest pigment, able to absorb 99.4% of light, providing a dark contrast to the already black coated movement.
This darkness is contrasted with a bright red used on accent pieces within the case and dial, designed to compliment the depth of the Musou Black, it is a further bespoke design element for an already unique watch.
